Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a watch to the Workshop for assessment or service, or by submitting an enquiry through the website contact form, you agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.
You must be at least 18 years of age and have full legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement to use the Services. If you are submitting a piece on behalf of another person or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to do so on their behalf.

Service Description
Klockwerk provides the following services from its workshop at 28 Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur:
- Mechanical Movement Service — full movement disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and timing calibration.
- Case Refinishing & Crystal Replacement — hand refinishing of case surfaces, crystal sourcing and fitting, gasket replacement, and water-resistance testing.
- Full Vintage Restoration Project — an extended project addressing movement, case, crystal, dial, and hands as agreed.
Services are available to clients in Malaysia. Klockwerk does not currently offer postal or courier-based submission outside of Klang Valley. Enquiries from clients in other regions are welcome and will be considered individually.
The Workshop reserves the right to decline any piece it considers beyond its scope, in poor condition for safe servicing, or otherwise unsuitable for the available services.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate information about the piece, including its history, any known issues, and any previous work carried out by other parties.
- The Client confirms that they are the lawful owner of the piece, or have explicit permission from the owner to submit it for servicing.
- The Client is responsible for collecting the piece within 30 days of the Workshop notifying them that work is complete. Pieces left beyond 30 days may incur a storage fee at the Workshop's discretion.
- The Client must not misrepresent the condition of a piece or withhold relevant information that would affect the scope or safety of the work.
- The Client agrees not to make unfounded claims about the Workshop's work without first raising the matter directly with Klockwerk.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Klockwerk website, including text, photographs, graphic elements, and the Work Records produced by the Workshop, remains the intellectual property of Klockwerk unless otherwise stated.
Photographs taken by the Workshop of the Client's piece during servicing are produced for the Client's record and may also be retained by the Workshop for quality documentation purposes. The Workshop will not publicly publish identifiable photographs of a Client's piece without consent.
Nothing in these Terms grants the Client any rights to reproduce, modify, or redistribute Klockwerk's content, branding, or materials.
Payment Terms
Prices for services are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR / RM) and are as stated on the website or as confirmed in writing with the Client prior to commencement of work.
- A deposit may be requested before work begins on Vintage Restoration Projects. The deposit amount will be agreed in writing before the piece is accepted.
- Payment in full is due upon collection of the piece, prior to it being handed over to the Client.
- Accepted payment methods include cash, bank transfer, and other methods confirmed at the time of agreement.
- If additional parts or work are required beyond the agreed scope, the Workshop will notify the Client and await written or verbal confirmation before proceeding. No additional charges will be incurred without the Client's approval.
- Refunds are not available once work has commenced, except where the Workshop has failed to carry out the agreed scope of work. Any dispute regarding quality should be raised in writing within 14 days of collection.
Service-Specific Terms
Scope changes: If, during disassembly, the Workshop discovers issues that fall outside the agreed scope, the Client will be contacted before any additional work is carried out. The Client may choose to expand the scope, maintain the original scope, or withdraw the piece.
Parts: Where replacement parts are required and no suitable equivalent is available from established suppliers, the Workshop will advise the Client on the available options, which may include in-house fabrication, sourcing from specialist markets, or limiting the scope of work.
Turnaround times: The turnaround times stated on the website are estimates. Complex pieces, parts availability, or workshop scheduling may affect actual completion time. The Workshop will communicate any significant delays to the Client.
Water resistance: Where water-resistance testing is carried out, results reflect the condition of the piece at the time of testing. The Workshop does not extend any ongoing water-resistance commitment beyond the scope of the testing performed.
Disclaimers
The Workshop carries out all work with reasonable care and skill appropriate to the service type. However, the following disclaimers apply:
- Klockwerk does not provide any representation or warranty that a serviced piece will achieve a specific rate accuracy, as this depends on the age, condition, and calibre of the movement.
- Work on vintage or aged pieces carries inherent risks. Components that appear sound may fail during or after servicing due to age-related deterioration. The Workshop will inform the Client of any such findings but cannot be held responsible for failures resulting from the pre-existing condition of aged parts.
- The Workshop is not affiliated with any original manufacturer of watches submitted for service. Any reference to brand names or calibre references is made for identification purposes only.
- No service provided by Klockwerk constitutes professional financial, insurance, or valuation advice. The Workshop does not provide watch valuations.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Klockwerk's total liability to any Client arising from a service engagement shall not exceed the amount paid by the Client for that specific service.
The Workshop shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of sentimental value, market value fluctuations, or costs of alternative servicing by a third party, arising from work carried out in good faith under these Terms.
In cases of force majeure — including but not limited to fire, flood, theft, or other circumstances beyond the Workshop's reasonable control — the Workshop's liability is limited to the reasonable replacement cost of the piece, where that cost can be objectively established.
Indemnification
The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Klockwerk, its staff, and its representatives against any claims, costs, or losses arising from the Client's breach of these Terms, including claims arising from misrepresentation of ownership, false information about the piece's condition, or collection of a piece by an unauthorised party.
Termination of Agreement
Either party may withdraw from the agreement at any time prior to work commencing. If the Client withdraws after work has begun, they remain liable for the cost of any work completed to that point and any parts already sourced or fabricated.
The Workshop may decline to proceed with or complete a service if the Client's conduct is unreasonable, if new information about the piece changes the feasibility of the agreed work, or if the Client fails to respond to communications within a reasonable period.
Terms relating to payment, intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability survive the termination or completion of any service agreement.
Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from a service engagement with Klockwerk will first be addressed through direct communication between the parties, with the aim of reaching a fair resolution within 30 days.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Clients may also seek recourse through the Consumer Claims Tribunal of Malaysia where applicable under the Consumer Protection Act 1999.
To raise a concern, contact the Workshop at [email protected] with a written description of the issue. The Workshop will respond within 7 working days.
General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with any written scope-of-work confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between the parties for the relevant service engagement.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- Waiver: The Workshop's failure to enforce any provision of these Terms on a given occasion does not constitute a waiver of that provision in future instances.
- Assignment: The Client may not assign their rights or obligations under these Terms to another party without the Workshop's written consent.
- Notices: Formal notices should be sent to the Workshop by electronic mail at [email protected] or in writing to 28 Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur.
Changes to These Terms
Klockwerk may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are made, the revised Terms will be published on the website with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Workshop's services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
For service engagements already in progress at the time of a change, the Terms in effect at the time the agreement was made will apply to that engagement.
